SACRAMENTO (CBS13/AP) – Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies searched a Southwest plane at Sacramento International airport Wednesday morning after a flight attendant found a bullet on board.

Southwest Airlines Flight 212 landed in Sacramento from Phoenix and arrived at the gate at 9:29 am. After passengers disembarked, flight attendants began cleaning the plane. That’s when one of them found a single .22 caliber bullet, which had not been fired, and called the Sheriff’s department.

Deputies searched the Southwest plane, but found nothing else.

Earlier, Transportation Security Administration officers found a loaded .45 caliber gun and more than 14 rounds of live ammunition in the carry-on bag of a passenger, who was preparing to board another Southwest flight.

The passenger told authorities he had a permit but forgot the weapon was in the bag.

Agents kept the weapon, but the passenger was allowed to board his flight to Burbank.
